Everyone Has Stories to Tell

Upcoming Workshops

Heirlooms Creative Life Writing workshops are ideal for anyone looking to share their story. I assist individuals by providing writing exercises to get writers started, guidance for making stories compelling, suggestions for organizing narratives, and – perhaps most importantly – a safe space to share stories in progress.

  • I encourage writers to begin with short stories about their life, and the goal is not to summarize their life as a whole.

  • Starting small, helps writers feel more comfortable and capable of sharing their unique stories.

  • These stories can certainly be stories about major milestones in the writer’s life, such as birth or death, but my favorites are those about everyday moments in time that influenced the person.

  • "Molly does a wonderful job connecting with people and making them feel comfortable enough to share their stories."

Hello, I’m Molly

I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA, and an EdD in Adult Education from the University of South Dakota. I feel honored to have helped hundreds of South Dakotans begin writing their life stories through my “Heirlooms: Creative Life Writing” workshop, both as a South Dakota Humanities Council Speakers Bureau scholar and through other community-based workshops. When I’m not writing or teaching, I love exploring the Black Hills and watching classic horror films.

Heirlooms Creative Life Writing encourages individuals to share these stories.
